I grow lots and lots of habanero peppers each year and no matter how much Gold Juice hotsauce I make, I always seem to have lots left over. This seasoning is based on dehydrated and powdered Habanero and as you can expect, by itself is reeeeeally hot! But habanero also has a natural floral-like sweetness as well and that’s why it’s probably my favorite hot pepper to add some zing and flavor into so many dishes.
This rub has a wonderful heat that goes great on pork and chicken. As the name implies, it’s hot and sweet given the various sugars in the mix. Because of all the sugar, be careful using it over high heat for extended cooks as the sugars will burn!
If you can’t find Habanero powder locally, you can get it here on Amazon.
